Training Program Report and Self-esteem Survey Results (Condensed)
-
One of the goals of the program was to increase self-esteem. The Self-esteem Inventory[1] was administered as a pre- and post-test.
-
Statistics showed a 16% increase in group self-esteem and a 42% increase for the most improved participant.
-
The New Self-Sufficient Attitude Training Program was presented in two separate sessions. Twenty-eight participants attended the evening session and 14 participants attended the morning session, for a total of 42 participants.
-
The Training Program was held twice weekly for a 4-week period for the 2 groups of participants, a total of 8 training sessions for each group. Two series of workshops ran simultaneously: the morning sessions were from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and the evening sessions were from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
-
The demographics for the group are listed below.
-
93% (39) Males, 7% (3) Females
-
64% (27) Black/African-American, 29% (12) Hispanic, 7% (3) White

During the Training Sessions, participants received appointment calendars, resumes, business cards, and business card holders.
-
Upon completion of the 8 Training Sessions, participants received certificates and briefcases/satchels with supplies (pens, pencils, erasers, tablets, highlighters, etc.)
-
The participants were given three Personality Surveys throughout the training process. All of the surveys are designed to enlighten the participants about themselves. These surveys are listed below.
-
Self-esteem – A Pre- and Post-Test was administrated to assess the participants’ level of self-esteem before the training and their improvement in self-esteem after the training was completed. The Self-esteem Survey Results are abpve.
-
A Personality Style Survey that looks at the participant's personality style was administered as well. This is a self-help assessment tool that allowed the participants to take a better look at the self. They began to understand their personality style and others as well. This showed participants if they were introverted or extraverted and what that meant. This assessment tool helped the participant to understand some of the “whys” about their behavior.
-
A Conflict Mode Survey was administered so that each participant could understand theirs and other people’s conflict style. This is a self-help assessment tool that showed the participants how they handle conflict. For example, it showed if the participants face conflict head on, walk away, control it or ignore it all together.
